Step 1 - The Setup
Step 1.1: Download NetRadiant
Download the Warsow 2.1 SDK here.
Put the whole warsow_21_sdk Folder somewhere on your harddrive. Navigate to mapping and unzip the "netradiant-win32-ubuntu12.04-x86_64.tar" there.
Open the unzipped Folder and launch the "radiant.exe" Application. This could take a while for the first time.
Step 1.2: Setup NetRadiant
Before your start mapping you should change a few settings to make things easier:
Once everything is setup like this restart your NetRadiant and you are ready to move to the next lesson.

Before your start mapping you should change a few settings to make things easier:
- Edit > Preferences > Layout: Choose the third Window Layout option
- Edit > Preferences > Brush: Select "Always use caulk for new brushes"
- Edit > Preferences > Clipper: Select "Clipper tool uses caulk"
- Edit > Preferences > Paths: Make sure the Engine Path is leading to your Warsow installation folder
- Edit > Preferences > Camera: Deselect "Enable far-clip plane"
- Grid: Select "Grid32" or "Grid16" to make the grid boxes bigger and easier to work on:
- Deselect the "Texture Lock" symbol so it looks like this:
Once everything is setup like this restart your NetRadiant and you are ready to move to the next lesson.
